Discovering the joy and passion for painting came late in my life, after working as a registered nurse for 26 years, raising children, and playing music since I was 15. The experience of applying thick, rich oil paint to canvas to capture the essence of the subject before me is challenging yet rewarding at the same time. Following the light, observing the values, atmosphere and spacial relationships while allowing my own sense of artistic interpretation to flow freely leads to many hours of peaceful solitude in my studio.
